This Privacy Policy describes how readychinatravel.com ("Ready? China!", "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit this website. Ready? China! is an independently operated informational website that helps first-time foreign visitors prepare for travel to China.
By using this website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: automatically, through your use of the site, and directly, when you voluntarily submit it through a form.

We do not collect payment information — this site does not process payments directly, and any purchase happens on a third-party partner's website.
3. Analytics — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, so we can improve it. Google Analytics only loads after you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner (or have previously done so) — it does not run for first-time visitors before a choice is made. When active, it uses cookies and similar technologies to collect data such as pages viewed, session duration, approximate geographic location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

4. Contact Forms & Formspree
Forms on this site — including the community submission form and the AI trip planner — are processed by Formspree, a third-party form-handling service. Information you submit through a form (such as your email address or trip details) is transmitted to Formspree and forwarded to us for the sole purpose of responding to you or providing the feature you requested.
We do not sell, rent, or share form submission data with advertisers or affiliate partners, including Travelpayouts. Formspree's own data practices are described at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
5. Affiliate Links & Travelpayouts
This site participates in affiliate marketing programs. When you click certain links (for example, related to eSIM, flights, hotels, trains, VPN services, or travel insurance) and subsequently make a purchase or booking, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
We use Travelpayouts Drive, a third-party service that automates parts of this process. Travelpayouts Drive only loads after you accept affiliate/marketing cookies in the cookie banner — it does not run for first-time visitors before a choice is made. Once active, it:
- Identifies existing links to travel brands on this site and routes them through Travelpayouts' tracking system so referrals can be attributed and commissions paid;
- May automatically convert certain travel-related keywords in page text into affiliate links;
- Sets a tracking cookie to record that a booking originated from this site. This cookie is used for attribution only and does not contain your name, email address, or other directly identifying information.
Other current or planned affiliate partners include Airalo, Trip.com, and select travel insurance and VPN providers. Each partner maintains its own privacy policy governing data collected after you leave this site.
6. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. This site uses cookies from Google Analytics (Section 3) and Travelpayouts (Section 5). On your first visit, you'll see a cookie banner where you can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or manage individual preferences. 7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate this site — Google (analytics), Formspree (form processing), and Travelpayouts and other affiliate networks (referral tracking) — each of which processes data under its own privacy policy and only for the purposes described above.

9. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, or partners. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
